CHLOE RYDER lives on a farm for thoroughbred and rescue horses. When she's not caring for the horses, she rides them across the hills surrounding her house. Fun series for kids

Read this series aloud with my 6-year-old who loved it. She now sits and reads it to herself or her dad. There is enough story to make it interesting enough for the parents but she really enjoyed the story, including the bit of mystery and suspense.

My daughter is 5 and loves horses. This series was her favorite. I've not been able to get her into any chapter books until this one. She was so sad when it ended! Highly recommend all 6 in the series.

Pippa Saves the Day

Princess Ponies : Best Friends Forever is the final title in the Princess Ponies series. There is still one golden horseshoe missing that Pippa McDonald and Stardust vow to return to the Whispering Wall before the sun sets on Midsummer Day. Their quest leads them to search for Divine at a Volcano Castle guarded by Night Mares. This clever and fanciful series employs every type of horse known or imagined, as well as, horse related animals: seahorses, flying horses, unicorns. Each of the books in the Princess Ponies series may be read as a stand-alone because much of the background story is repeated. The series capitalizes on the appeal of horses to girls, and the characters resemble the ponies in the popular animated television series, My Little Pony in that they are anthropomorphic. The plot of this book continues with adventure and intrigue written in the format of an easy chapter book. The book ends with an interview with Pippa and Stardust and a letter from Pippa to the ponies. Also a collectible magic horseshoe comes with each book that will most likely not survive in a library setting. Unfortunately the characterization has little depth, and the reason for the villain’s theft of the golden horseshoes is not well explained. Nevertheless, girls will be delighted with the whimsical island of Chevalia and its equine inhabitants.
