and enjoyed reading this short story very much

I am a huge fan of Theophile Gautier, and enjoyed reading this short story very much. A friend of mine read the story in French and liked it so much that I decided to search for an English translation. The French version is called "La Morte Amoreuse." I was happy to fine the book with the title changed to "Clarimonde," one of the main characters in the story. You rarely see books today written as well as the 18th and 19th century authors composed. They are truly a delight to read, as the language is so lovely.
This story ends with an abrupt moral that was a delightful surprise for me!
